Of the 10 qualified for the Main Final only 5 racers were able to do their Main Final runs, with the absent 5 racers most likely being involved in 'real' r/c racing that weekend. The Montpellier off-road track is not only one of the most scenic off-road tracks, it is also one of the most challenging off-road tracks with a great variety of corners, jumps and track surfaces. The 2024 Worlds Short Course Trucks saw many lead changes. Multi talent and 2024 World Champ 1:12 electric Wiktor Smid had his usual crash at the beginning of the Main Final but then showed his class with all laps but 2 in the 33 seconds range, on such a difficult track! Simply insane: The Bamberg Oval course measures 152m, and the winner averaged 6.289 sec/lap with his fastest laptime being 6.170 sec, and averaging 87km/h with a topspeed of 114.8km/h. Who else then the 'King of the Ovals' can produce these numbers. The new Bamberg asphalt oval presented a complete new challenge to the oval racers, gaining even a tenth of a second could take 2 or 3 laps. See for yourself!

RIETVELD RUNS AWAY WITH THE VICTORY AT LOSTALLO
Round 4 of the 1/8 Nitro Sportscar Series took us to beautiful Lostallo in Switzerland where a large turnout of racers showed up to test their skills at the enormous track nestled in the valley. I now see that only one report is allowed per Event: I had planned on just doing Sport class, however, I have now added a few notes on Pro and Club.

Francis Wathlet (B) was ‘king of the hill’ in deze klasse, met 2 duidelijke overwinningen op zijn Belgische compaan Nicolas Evens (organisator van de Belgium Short Course Cup). Arjan van de Graaf was met 2 tweede plaatsen nog in de race voor de 2de plaats in het eindklassement, maar in Race 3 op de Bash Pit Long Course kwam hij uiteindelijk een half rondje te kort op Nicolas Evens om uiteindelijk als 3de te eindigen.

PRO klasse
Deze klasse werd overtuigend gewonnen door Julius Kolff met 3 overwinningen uit 3. Na de eerste wedstrijd met slechts 0.5 sec te hebben gewonnen was Race 2 op Carpet-2 opnieuw een strijd tussen Kolff en Wathlet, die weer in het voordeel van Julius, maar nu met 1 sec. voorsprong werd beslist.
