VRC Pro Practice ground is the perfect place to get a feel for your new r/c car. It is a huge place where you can drive without hitting anything, ideal if you have never driven an r/c car before.

The practice ground has a so called 'skid test' area with a number of concentric circles. Advanced racers could use this area to play with setups to improve steering at different speeds.

There is also a 200m long speed strip for acceleration tests and top-speed testing. At the end there is a steep ramp to de-accelerate the car.

The acceleration test measures the time (and speed in replay mode) at 10-20-30-40-50-100m lines. Adjusting fuel mixture, gear ratio, shift point and clutch setting, tire selection and aerodynamic settings can make a big difference on a nitro powered car.

For electric cars motor, gearing and tire selection can have an effect on acceleration!
