We met up with 2013 European Champion 1:8 nitro buggies and avid VRC Pro racer David Ronnefalk. The 17 year old Kyosho works racer from Sweden is racing VRC Pro since 2011 and has recently become involved in the Beta testing team where he will provide expert feedback for our 1:8 nitro buggy development program. David took some time to answer a few pressing questions...
PB: congratulations winning the Euros in France this year, I watched the video, that was a close one in the end. How do you look back at this victory?
DR: Thank you! Yes it was a close one but nice to take revenge from last year. I still can´t find any words for it, but of course it´s my greatest success in my racing carrier. This was my main goal this year and now when it is fulfilled I can start to focus totally on the upcoming Worlds in september in Chico!
PB: you started already back in 2011 with VRC Pro but back then it was of course only on-road. Have you raced on-road in real life as well or only off-road?

Today we bring you a new suspension model for the short course trucks and upcoming buggy. The truck physics have had a major overhaul, to say the least. This new model is fully 3D and covers every part of the suspension right down to the spring preload nuts, hole selections, and washer adjustments. Videos speak louder than words, so check out the 3D suspension physics tech video.
As you can see, the suspension on the truck is now modelled as extensively as anyone could ever hope for. There are no visual tricks here like other sims often use. What you see here is coming directly from the physics engine. There are no animation bones or any of that kind of thing. Possibly for the first time in a sim, there is a 100% correlation between what you see on the screen and what the physics engine is actually using. I am willing to bet that most people reading this article and or playing this game don’t know exactly how to utilize all of the features that are built in to make your practice and racing experience more enjoyable. I will explain three key features right now, event replays, club races, and Participating official Season events.
Blast into the past with event replays
When you launch the game execution file you end up in the pits looking at the top of the page there are several options. From left to right the options are:
Practice - Timed Trial - Events - Multiplayer - Replay - Car Setup
I would like to focus on the events options right now and more specifically replays. IMPORTANT! This is the Event Replay Saved on the VRC Server not the replays you save on your computer. When you select events the menu will load, at the top left you have two options, current events or past events.

VRC Pro racer David Ronnefalk, also winner of Round 4 Season 1 for Short Course Trucks at Silver Dollar, has dominated the 2013 Euros in France, taking pole and victory. The only 17 year old Swede drove a tough race to win him his very first EFRA European Championship title. Practice makes perfect, even for European champions like David Ronnefalk.
