2017 SEASON 1 1:10 ELECTRIC TC 13.5T SPEC ROUND 8 MB Models Raceway

Report by J-P.Huhtala

2017 SEASON 1 1:10 ELECTRIC TC 13.5T SPEC ROUND 8 MB Models Raceway

Electric spec touring cars ended season 1 at MB Modells raceway. This track was one of the community favourites as track designs were voted. And no doubt, some likes and some hates it, but it is demanding, technical and needs very precise and good rhytm. Big thanks to Graham Raistrick bringing this fantastic track to contest.

So, last race of 1:10 electric spec series of SEASON 1, was held at this track and very same guys were in top like earlier season races. Bailes, Löb, Nedrebo, Yeung, Yanagisawa, Saputra and many others were in here and expectations for good race were high.

At PRO level Austrian Christoph Löb was fastest at qualifying round, leaving American Dana Bailes almost two seconds behind. Michitaka Yanagisawa from Japan was third fastest, but he was almost five seconds away from Löb`s pace.
In semifinal round, Nedrebo from Norway who was 6th in qualy round, drove furios run and got pole for the final. Löb was second, but only 0.2 seconds out of Nedrebo`s pace. Bailes was also very close, loosing 0.4 seconds to pole sitter. Now Yanagisawa was 4th, again almost five seconds out of fastest pace.
When mainfinal started, Nedrebo, Bailes and Löb were setting the pace. Race was very tight between these three and there was no room for mistakes. After tight early stage, Bailes got very good rhytm and got two seconds lead of Nedrebo. But Bailes race was totally ruined, when he made a mistake in three consecutive laps and dropped to third place. Nedrebo instead drove very flawless and consistent run and this secured his win in here. Christoph Löb was second, only 0.9 seconds behind Nedrebo. Löb`s pace was very similar with Nedrebo and Bailes.
Bailes crossed the line in third place, almost five seconds behind winner. Sorry for Dana, in some point this was clearly going to him, but rhytm wasnt on his side today.

Nedrebo drove fast, flawless and consistent run

SPORT level was domination of Thailand driver Somdej Tumrongrajniti. Few mistakes during his run didnt affect to his position and with his pace, he won this race over 10 seconds margin.
Second was Anssi Hartikainen from Finland. Anssi was four 10th`s of winners pace, but all in all very good result from Anssi. Manuel Weber crossed the line in third place, he was one lap down of winners pace.

Somdej Tumrongrajniti from Thailand dominated SPORT level

CLUB level was also one mans show. Japan driver Obata Hideki, who won also CLUB level Championship, was on his own pace. He crossed the line one lap ahead of another Japan driver Ryusuke Yamaji. Austrian Johann Jury got well deserved third place. Well done Johann!

Obata Hideki, CLUB level season CHAMPION

Somdej Tumrongrajniti, very good job for our SPORT level)

Thanks for the report Jupe! Did not participate in Semi-final and Main final due to racing in Taiwan Asia Fever nitro off-road race with my son Jonathan during that period. Nice track and nice race!
