2016 VRC WORLDS 1:8 NITRO NASCAR TRUCKS

27.12.2016

VRC race reporting

VRC PRO WORLDCHAMPION 2016 1:8 NITRONASCARTRUCK SAO PAOLO OVAL

WORLDCHAMPION title of 1:8 nitronascartruck was solved at SAO PAOLO OVAL.
Nothing miracles happend as we witnessed after starting rounds that Britains multiple WC finalist Graham Raistrick had secured the pole for the Final. American, ovals supertalent Jimmy Flack was big favorite to take that pole, but he had to settle to second grid, 1.1 seconds behind Raistrick.
Switzerlands Pierre Dumusc drove very good semifinal and got third grid, 4.3 seconds behind Flack. Behind Dumusc, going to fourth grid was Vesa Inkeri from Finland. Vesa was 2.8 seconds slower than Dumusc. In fifth grid, was Philippe Gross, he had over 6 seconds to Inkeri at fourth place.

JIMMY FLACK multiple VRC PRO WORLDCHAMPION

As race started, in very first lap we got some big drama, as our pole winner Raistick got himself in troubles. Did Graham totally losted concentration or something, but this was weird. Three bigger mistakes was just too much in this group, and this blewed his Final.
From this point, was it easy, but Jimmy Flack didnt let us down. He hitted just remarkable run and secured his third WORLDCHAMPIONSHIP title in these Worlds.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JIMMY, HATS OFF!!

Vesa Inkeri, got what he wanted. A magnificent achievement and great trophy

From second and third podium, Dumusc and Inkeri were in battle. OK, Jimmy was far away in his own, but these guys had great fight. Dumusc was in second place all the way to 43 lap when Inkeri gained and also passed him. Next 30 laps they were like cat and mouse, they swapped positions and this was good racing. In lap 72 Dumusc made his one mistakes and Inkeri got time to breath. From this lap Inkeri showed his skills and nervecontrol. He was hitting so consistent laps and that was tough to Dumusc.
Those consistent 7.4-7.6 laps were poison to Dumusc and Inkeri crossed the line in second place.
Dumusc had to settle to third place, over 10 seconds behind Inkeri.

Great job from Swiss, amazing achivement in this group

Thanks everyone, very happy. I needed some luck to get all 3 of the oval worlds. Truck wasn't as good as I would have liked in a couple of the classes.

Great report, thanks for your hard work.

Yep, Jimmy is THE man when it comes to Oval....although there is one other guy that I have raced that might give you a run for your money Jimmy...Manabu Oshima

Much respect for Manabu could always find that little bit extra. A lot like you....seemed to be born to do Oval.
As the other guys say, you deserve this triple world title. You have certainly earned my respect and I look forward to battling with you next year ;-)
