VRC race reporting

VRC PRO WORLDCHAMPION of 1:12 spec class CARPET JPH

From semifinal it was allready obvious that American Dana Bailes was the man to beat, as he wonned that round with 2 seconds margin to Viljami Kutvonen from Finland.
Unfortunatelly Kutvonen were not at the grid when FINAL was arranged. But there was blenty other gladiators to challenge Dana of the title. Multible WC finalist Graham Raistrick was in third grid, and other Brit, Reece Hodges at fourth grid. Raistrick result in semifinal was over 4 seconds slower than Dana`s, but this Britains laprobot had not showed everything yet.
So, it was looking Bailes and Raistrick fight, if others wouldnt find anything for the FINAL.

Dana Bailes at CARPET JPH track

From the tone Bailes went to the lead and was hitting fantastic and consistent laps.
Raistrick, Hodges and German driver Lauter were doing very same behind and it was fantastic, as we witnessed how good pace Hodges and Lauter had. But in lap 14, Lauter dropped from this train as he cutted turn two and others got away. Bailes was leading, Raistrick in second and Hodges at third place. Bailes was hitting very beautiful laps, and he had over two seconds margin to Raistrick in second place, as he got trouble. In lap 21 he made hungry cutting to turn 7 and Raistrick and Hodges passed him. Now safe lead had turned to third place and fight was on. But Dana wasnt surrended, his pace was there and he continued what he had started.

0.146 behind WC title, Reece Hodges

Three laps later, in very same corner, where he flipped his car, he doned fantastic overtake and got the lead back. From this point it was pretty obvious, that without any bumps, Dana would take the title. Hodges had passed Raistrick and was pressuring Dana really hard.
But Bailes hold his nerves and crossed the line in first place, but very tiny 0.146 seconds margin before Hodges and got the WORLDCHAMPION title. Raistrick was close also, only 0.586 seconds behind winner and got third podium.

It was close, once again Graham(Racetrick) was in top level.
