2014 Season 1, Round 3 @ RC Excitement '12

Six in one hand and half a dozen in the other, this season Is half way over. Or if you’re an optimist, the second half is just beginning. What ever you want to say or how ever you see it this weekends racing action was so hot it almost melted the snow outside. Two category of truck and three class per category with a total of 338 entries. This is round 3 of a six round series that uses your best four results for the final outcome. Each point or position counts and the racers this week appeared to have this in mind as nobody was giving away positions in any of the main events.

Pro Modified A-Main
The modified A-Main Lined up with Martin "The Wizard" Wollanka at the pole followed by Rob Gillespie and Nicholas Loriot. The horn sounded and Nicolas "The Lunch Box" Loriot hit the first turn ahead of Martin and Rob. Youthful enthusiasm was his friend with lightning fast reflexes like that we may have to start calling him "The flash" or "Lightning" what ever the case Nicolas was in the lead he and Gillespie swapped out the lead for most of the race. Jerome djay Delcourt made and appearance at the front shortly and then Martin tried to make a show before clipping a pipe and flipping over. Rob was running away with it when he clipped the back of a lapper and T-boned the pipe, he reversed and U-turned and got back underway just ahead of a hard charging Loriot.

Sport Modified Main Event
Variety is the spice of life and this class likes to mix it up like no other. There has been a different winner in this class each week. The one constant is Robert "The Red Assassin" Sorjonen, Robert is always on the podium he is consistently fast, it makes perfect sense that he is leading the points after three rounds.

Ben Moisio led lap one but surrendered to Canada's Austin Hauch, once Hauch passed Moisio he never looked back leading this from start to finish. Robert and ben battled for three laps then Robert ran away with second place. The finish order was as follows.

The Sport A-Main finish was as follows:
1 Austin Hauch CA 28 08:04.872 -
2 Robert Sorjonen CA 28 08:08.108 +3.236s >
3 Ben Moisio US 28 08:08.745 +3.873s >

Club Modified Main Event
The entry level class is for those New to VRC or beginner drivers that are just learning. This week there were some very fast divers in the club class. This is usually the case each week as new players join and then realize they are way faster than the beginner drivers, they move up and then it happens again the next week.

The Club A-Main finish was as follows:
1 Riccardo Perin IT 28 08:06.500 -
2 Philippe Gross CH 27 08:01.263 +1 laps >
3 Björn Engman SE 27 08:01.303 +1 laps >

Top 30 Combined Finish
I like to check the combined top 30 from time to time to see where I would be if everyone was racing together here is what this weeks results would have been like if we all raced together. The top 6 Club Drivers are in the top 30, The top 7 Sport Drivers are in the top thirty and the Winner of the sport class would have been 10th in the Pro A Main.
The Events page now has this option to sort (ALL) so that you can see where you finished against everyone, I finished 42nd.
