Mini Autodrome Jody Scheckter, Fiorano Italy, this track is located just around the corner of the famous Ferrari test track.

One of the older, classic Italian tracks with the fast straight directly in front of the drivers stand. The fast chicane at the back is challenging, get it right and you drop your lap time, get it wrong and you waste a good lap...

Jakub Rozycki beats Lamberto Collari by 0.006 at Fiorano...

20.10.2014

Jakub Rozycki is the proud winner of the virtual version of the last EURO NITRO SERIES at Fiorano this past weekend, beating 9x IFMAR World Champion Lamberto Collari by just 0.006 sec after 45 minutes of racing. Never ever has the difference between the real and the virtual race, on the same track been that close.

Like Lamberto Collari, Jakub Rozycki from Poland drove a perfect race, with just 1 serious mistake which cost him around 3 seconds. VRC World Champion Martin Wollanka showed up for the first time again after his debut at the 2014 IFMAR Buggy Worlds in Sicily, and finished a strong 2nd just 4 seconds down on the surprisingly fast Pole. Good old Giorgio Mingotti finished 3rd 2 laps down on the winner.

Result 45 minute A-Main:

1 Jakub Rozycki PL Pro 171 45:10.450
2 Martin Wollanka AT Pro 171 45:14.600
3 Giorgio Mingotti IT Pro 169 45:05.350
4 Antonello Parisi IT Pro 165 45:00.378
5 Holger Wolf DE Sport 165 45:14.058
6 Alex Guillot FR Pro 164 45:13.996
7 Nicolas Loriot FR Pro 163 45:02.334
8 Massimo Aliprandi IT Pro 160 46:01.274

Now this topic really is pretentious! Even if someone knows how it is meant. VRC goes too far with their comparison to real racing with VRC Pro being a great and pretty realistic sim though.

we are realistic enough to know that a difference of 0.006 is pure coincidence. But what the video does show is that the cars behave very very similar. I have created another comparison video which has a slow motion part in reverse. We have used this method to study slip angles of the car as there is no scientific data on this. In reverse slo-mo you can really see this well. And also here you can see that it is very close.

Pretentious? We should be after 14 years of developing the physics for VRC Pro. I don't think anyone understand it's complexity. It's easier to make a real car, the laws of physics will dictate whether it will work or not. In a simulation we have to apply the laws of physics ourselves.

@Stephan:
times are pretty close 45mn race,
time lap track are pretty close
refuel are pretty close
JAKUB was at real Event and say it is exactly same track sensation, i believe him and his time is same vrc/real
the big diff is no crash because run alone to my opinion and broken engine/car if happens.
(it is big diff here )
it is harder to look 45mn the screen than real track but we can do race when good mood.
bye bye
