Here is your boxing day recap of the final 2023 fall VRC series event! The final week to grab some points for sure had some boxing going on in the standings with a few close races for podium spots.
Padova spec saw 1,2,3 not change from qualifying as the event finished up myself, Ryan Mckay and John Hollestelle with 2/3 only separated by 2 seconds. Stansilav from Czech made the big move from 8th to 4th in this race. Lots of close racing top to bottom of the standings.
Mod had some more movement from 3rd place on down. I took the win, Ryan in 2nd and Adriano Picerno jumped up a spot to get the final podium position in 3rd! John made a big move from 8th to finish 4th while new comer Sterling Bennett moved fom 10th to 8th. Michael Moore also with a clean run in the main to jump 2 spots to finish 5th overall.
With the first series all wrapped up, thank you to all that ran the many events and congrats to top 3 podium finishers! We now jump right into our 2023 Winter series which will be the best 6 of 8 events ru... read more

We all walk away from the air lifted bowling alley track this week with our heads held high!
For spec I took TQ and the win, but the action was for 2nd - 4th! John Hollestelle took an unplanned 'shortcut' on the last lap with about 10 seconds to go which prevented him from catching Ryan Mckay but still managed to stay ahead of Stanislav by .2 seconds. That was a close one on the replay. Ryan tried to give it away getting squirrely after a hard landing on that last jump but held on to finish 2nd and John H in 3rd. Michel Lamesse moved up 2 spots from 9 to finish 7th overall with a great 2nd half to his main.
In mod late arrival Marc-André Lemieux threw down his buggy last minute and squeaked out a TQ run on his last attempt. Unfortunately he was so blazing fast his gear over heated and couldn't finish the mains. Most positions were pretty spread out in the main as I took the win, Ryan in 2nd and Frank Modica in 3rd. Again proving his name, sandbagger Ryan moved up 3 spots from 5th to get on the podium.

Late last night the mains for the track that can't decide on its own surface finished up.
In spec the positions stayed the exact same from qualifying to the end of the mains. I TQ'd and finished first with Ryan Mckay in 2nd and Stanislav Pavlíček just edging out Andrew Scott for the 3rd place finish. I'd talk about the movers and shakers but there weren't any in spec and after the 3/4th race the results were pretty spaced out!
Mod was a different story. I managed to TQ but someone messed with my battery and I couldn't manage to finish any attempt, DNF for me! This left the door open and Ryan Mckay stepped up to the plate. A nice battle between him and Frank Modica saw them less than 2 seconds apart with 3 laps to go. Mckay would finish it off clean and take the win this week, Frank in 2nd and Adriano Picerno in 3rd. Adriano was also our mover going from 5th to 3rd.
This week we are at Naxos which feels like its an elevated bowling alley type track. A few runs have already been posted in both classes. My li... read more

The haunted track event has wrapped up for this week as we all dust off our buggies and prepare for the next event.

I TQ'd and took the W in spec while 2nd, 3rd and 4th were very tight. After an early mistake and trailing for the first 5 laps John H got back on track and grabbed 2nd place with Andrew Scott finishing 3rd after Ryan Mckay needed a marshal with 2 laps to go !

For mod I took the win, Ryan Mckay in 2nd and Frank Modica finished 3rd. Not a lot of movement but John Hollestells running the 1450kv motor did make a late charge and moved up 2 spots to finish 4th overall.

... and wow the buggies for Chris Knapp and Dave Walker were so fast this week I never even saw them!

We are at Montpellier (reversed) this week, a track with a mix of surfaces throughout. Good luck!
