VRC SERVERS RE-LOCATION IN PROGRESS

30.03.2016   18 comments   Category: Site news

Due to some unexpected issues with our current hosting provider at one of the biggest data centers in the Netherlands (and in fact Europe), we had to decide to re-locate our servers. The preparations for this complex operation were already started 2 weeks ago, and during the Easter weekend the web and racing services have been switched to our back up servers. Our production servers are now being transported to a new data center. We expect that the servers will be up and running again by the end of next week. You will probably have experienced some server unavailabilities past Tuesday. We appologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Running on the back-up servers means that some of the services are not available, and as we do not have enough time to come up with temporary fixes we have no other choice than to accept if for now. For example, the service that reports the driven km's and specific car class statistics is not running properly at the moment. We continue to collect all this data and othe... read more

The 2016 SEASON 1 1:10 SC truck 13.5T SPEC round 5 race was held at the twisting, turning and off cambered NEO-9 where many great races have taken place on VRC. With the 13.5T motor, line can be limited or more difficult to take than with modified motors that create much more power. These races were each about who made the least amount of mistakes as with SPEC racing, time is difficult to make up. I am no artist but I will try to paint the racing picture.

In the pro class, the grid started out with Colby Waddell settling in at TQ followed by Sandro Cabreira, Sean Krause, Robert Hillman, Tony Dugan, Patrick Hofer, Tommaso Andreuccetti, and Christophe DELAMARE. Absent from the A-main in the pro class were Joan Espasa and Jiri Mara who qualified 6th and 8th respectively.
At the start of the race, Robert Hillman made a huge leap going from 4th to 2nd at the starting line only to fall back to last immediately from a wreck in the 2nd turn. Altho... read more

Don't wait for the week end to join us here at Sao Paulo de Brasil for the 3rd round of the 1/8 nitro sportscar spec championship !!! 65 drivers representing 13 nations came from all around the world to compete.
This track is special for at least two reasons. Firstable, in 2004, there was the 1/10 nitro world championship, with the win of Adrien Bertin in front of Josh Cyrul, and Takaagi Shimo (who had made no tire change during one hour), after an unbelievable battle ended by a magnificent overtake of Adrien on Josh at the second corner after the straight line. In second, this track is famous because of its layout quite difficult to describe. Some says it's « weird », some says « It's easy », but the fact is that nobody is indifférent to this unusual track. And be careful with all the dust out of the apex, the black driving line, or you will finish in the grass, or in the metal barriers !

Let's see what happened during the qualifying :

Reported by Tony Dugan

Naxos held round 5 of the 2016 season 1 electric buggy race. 15 year old Uwe De Zwart from Austria and Dan Phillion from Canada were the top two qualifiers at a very demanding and unforgiving track. Qualifying third was none other than the Swedish sensation, Robert "I'm on top of the " Hillman. Dan and Robert are standing one and two respectively in the 2016 official season standing with Tommaso Andreuccetti, 33 from Italy, holding on to the 3rd position.

During the first few laps, the top few racers remained within striking distance with average lap times between 37-38 seconds. A mistake by Zwart at the finish line ending lap 4 made for a higher than average time on lap 5. While Zwart was being marshalled at the start of lap 5, Hillman caught Zwart and was leading heading down the straight away in front of the drivers stand. Oddly enough, Zwart and Hillman both hand their slowest lap on lap 5 and fastest lap on ... read more

After Oslo event, what was wonned by Italian Massimiliano Tanturri, it was time to travel Germany and Eppelheim track. Tanturri hadnt joined this event but there was enough those talents to give us good show. This tracks layout is from 2007 LRP masters. The track is very demanding because its marked by dots and barriers. You have to practice a lot in here if you want to be fast and consistent. Of course, this is easy to supertalents who are fast everywhere they go.
