We are making good progress with the new 1:10 electric Basher and the Crawler trucks class and are ready to invite members to become a beta tester.
The reason we have developed the Basher and the Crawler is that we expect to reach a totally different group of R/C enthousiast that probably never have done any racing, but just having fun bashing their off-road tracks on open terrain, in the back garden, just anywhere. It could well be that once engaged with VRC that they will try other classes, like short-course trucks or buggies on proper race tracks, or even give on-road a try, only time will tell!
We think that especially the multiplayer option is of interest for bashers as they can now really 'bash' each other cars without having to worry to break your or the other car. The harder you crash the more fun it is. Imagine a mid-air crash on a high jump...
The main purpose of the beta testing is to do a critical evaluation of the Basher and Crawler chassis, these chassis are of course not meant for competitions like all our other chassis. It's very much about the fun factor.
We expect the beta tester to be available for a few multi-player sessions. These sessions will be organized by VRC and the replays will be saved and used to create an exciting and appealing promo video.
Who should apply?
We are looking for active off-road racers who are also interested in bashing and crawling and are willing to provide us with good feedback in the designated forums on the test site.
How can you apply?
You must send me a personal message on my profile page at http://www.vrcworld.com/member/default.aspx?member=1 and explain your interest in become a beta tester.
Who will be selected as beta tester?
I will evaluate all the applications and will select the members which I feel are most suitable and/or motivated to become a beta tester.
How many beta testers will be signed up?
We are looking for around 25-30 beta testers in total.
How and when will I know if I am selected?
We will contact you by email if you are selected. We expect to make this known around middle of May.
What do I need to do?
In the email you receive from us we explain exactly what you need to do, how you install the beta test version of VRC.
We will create your beta test account and in the email you will find information how to access the beta test website and how to log in.
I look forward receiving your applications in my personal message box on the VRC website.

I think there is no right or wrong way. I just think that if the media side is not developed, it will be difficult to bring other people to VRC. you have to inspire, attract people.
what works best is a game that is alive, that comes up with new stuff all the time.
today the only pilots left are real people attached to this game or to training but that doesn't go any further.
I don't have a miracle solution, RC IRL has also been impacted by a wave of departures for almost 10 years now. it was off topic, suddenly the idea is good, the novelty always pleases. 😁👍

Hi Pieter,
Have you ever thought about using the VRC Ranking system in conjunction with Live RC to rank real RC Drivers?
Like a separate Member Ship to use for Ranking against your friends and clubs around the world.
I don't know exactly how it would work but I have a few Ideas. https://rcgarage.info
has a system that draws from Live RC they have not tied it together yet and I have not had any luck getting a hold of them.
The Way VRC ranks drivers would be a handy tool around the world to help people drive in the appropriate class at least.
Lets have a discussion about this if your at all interested.
I think there is a way to have:
1. track champions,
2. District Champion
3. State Champion
4. National Champion
in all the countries of the world that use a live track transponder system.
Maybe this is too crazy but I wish the real world was more like VRC.

I love the Game Pieter, always have you know this. It has actually proven to be a great training tool. I Started racing real cars last year January 2021. I make the A main most of the time my only practice is VRC I don't go to the track for Practice. I use VRC and then I go racing. VRC is really that good. I would love to have some form of Track editing plugin. I know we talked about this years ago, Duratrax Real Race Generation 2 had a track editor plugin that was fairly easy to use. Use a grey scale height map based on photoshop gradient grey scale drawing for the jumps and then you used the plugin to set the track pipes and boundaries. Seems that in this new age of technology this would be easy and would take VRC to a whole new level.

Donald, problem is that our whole game architecture was never designed for member involvement in designing tracks. The whole structure is very specific and too complex. Rebuilding this, if at all possible, would take years and would be very expensive.

I Really don't understand the time and money to develop a basher. I think you are going in the wrong direction on this one guys.
Donlad, we'll see. It's a relative easy to create class and addresses a new market

Hello, I think that it's not a bad idea, it will bring something new, and allow people who have not tried to try this discipline and have fun.
