Probably the biggest r/c track on this planet: Lostallo in Switzerland. With a length of 430m this track takes well over 20 seconds to go round, that is with a 1:8 scale racer. Lostallo is located at the south of the Alps close to the Italian border. The club has hosted numerous European and World Championships on this track. The sound of the cars when they come by on the front straight is absolutely amazing, and the Doppler effect makes it even more realistic. The infield is technical but never tight. The sheer size of this track makes it one you ought to have in your VRC track collection.

Here we are at Lostallo for a flash report about the 5th round of the 1/8 nitro sportscars spec championship. 73 drivers came from 14 different nations to enjoy this race. After the qualifying round, let's see immediatly the main final start grid in club class :

1/ Nuno Lourenco / 19 laps / 07.20.388
2/ Benjamin Krings / 18 / 07.02.512
3/ Scott Dickson / 1 / 07.14.770
4/ Alejandro Puga / 17 / 07.18.226
5/ Paulo Machado / 17 / 07.24.202
6/ Jodie Grein / 16 / 07.10.716
7/ Shigeto Oki / 16 / 07.13.262
8/ Steven Stevenson / 16 / 07.18.590
9/ Gary Climie / 15 / 07.02.248
10/Uwe Roesler / 15 / 07.11.450

From the beginning, Benjammin Krings has decided to challenge Nuno Lourenco who has started from the first spot. Together, they have a great battle, and soon they stretche the gap with the other, but Nuno Lourenco is fast as usual, and more consistent than Benjamin Krings. So little by little, he
take the keeps for sure until the end. Benjamin Krings makes a strong race, and next time, he may be able to defeat Nuno Lourenco, who wins another race this season in this class.

Nuno Lourenco. The winner in class club.

Sport class main final start grid :

1/ Robert Yelle / 19 laps / 07.04.024
2/ Jacques Blanchin / 19 / 07.06.042
3/ Aron Roach / 19 / 07.07.744

9/ Romain Lacroix / 19 / 07.22.828
10/VRC Korea Master / 19 / 07.23.838

In the beginning, the race looks like in class club. The forever young Robert Yelle keeps his first spot, but he is closely followed by the forever fast Jacques Blanchin. They have a great battle, butthey're not the only ones. Behind, there's also a hard fight between Aron Roach, Laszlo Vari, and Peter Haaima for the 3rd spot.
Things change when Jacques Blanchin succeeds in overtaking Robert Yelle for the gain of the first spot. Robert Yelle stays close to him, waiting for the opportunity to take back the lead, and it will happen at just 1min30s to the end, during the 49th lap, when Jacques Blanchin makes a little mistake and goes in the grass. For the 3rd spot, Aron Roach has been able to resist to the attacks of Peter Haaima and Laszlo Vari.
It was a very close race between all these drivers.

Robert Yelle. The winner in class sport.

Results :

1/ Robert Yelle / 54 laps / 20.19.376
2/ Jacques Blanchin / 54 / 20.23.678

9/ Jose Angel Vera / 20 / 07.17.114
10/Jonas Larsson / 20/ 07.20.00

Here come the superheroes with incredible skills, the pro drivers.
For this race, Joshua "Captain America" Berman has decided to fly. He rises from the start and takes the lead to Jeffrey "Superman" Rietveld". Benjamin Lehmann, Graham Raistrick, Bjorn Bogers, Jukka Pekka Huhtala (back on the track), and Alex Guillot follow closely.
Joshua Berman moves so fast that he overtake the sound barrier. Everybody can hear the "bang" and see that meter by meter, he goes alone away in the lead.
But "Superman" stays "Superman", and he chases "Captain America" with consistency and precision waiting for the right moment. This moment comes during the 12th lap. Jeffrey makes a wonderfull move (I'm still wondering how he did that) to join and overtake Joshua.
Jeffrey takes the win, but what a race from Joshua always closer and closer. Jukka Pekka, back on track, makes a wonderful result, and has lost nothing of his pace. And a word for Alex "Spiderman" Guillot, always hanging on the best drivers in this class. If he continues like this, he will make the surprise one day, because he is able to win.

Jeffrey Rietveld. The winner in class pro.

Results :

1/ Jeffrey Rietveld / 57 / 20.20.282
2/ Joshua Berman / 57 / 20.20.296

6/ Bjorn Borgers / 55 / 20.15. 474
7/ Alex Guillot / 54 / 20.00.346
8/ Jonas Larsson / 54 / 20.20.162
9/ Massimiliano Tanturri / DNS
10/Jose Angel Ver / DNS

Bruno, this is one example that "shorter" reports are as good as your longer ones. This report tells fabulously the main things what should be told. Great coverage, thank you Bruno!
