2017 SEASON 2 1:8 NITRO BUGGIES ROUND 3 IBR Padova

PRO level

Third round event of 1:8 nitro buggy serie was raced at IBR Padova track. American Tom Rinderknecht was absolutely on his own level when winner was solved. This 15 years old youngster won the qualifying with 6 second margin to South Korean driver Kevin Lee. Behind Lee, was another American, Marshall Kirkholm. He earned third grid for the main, and was almost 8 seconds away from Rinderknecht`s and over one second from Lee`s pace.

As the main started, nobody couldnt answer to Rinderknecht`s pace. After first lap, Tom had pulled over one second gap to second place. And it was very clear, that without any problems, with his furios pace, this was going to be his race. He did fantastic and consistent run, was totally on his own and won this race with 17 second gap. Rinderknecht`s average lap was 33.540.
Marko Laitinen from Finland was succeeder of the race. He started from 8th grid and finished in second place. After five laps, Marko had allready gained his position to second and from this point, he continued his great, consistent style and took the second place. Great drive also from Marko! Max Zenouz from Germany was another succeeder, he drove very good final. Despite his few bigger mistakes, his low 34s laps secured his third place.

Rinderknecht flew to victory

SPORT level

Swedish 14 years old offroader Joel Martinsson won the Sport level race. He was most consistent and had best pace. Only who could challenge Martinsson a little, was German Frank Wagner. Even Wagner would need four tenths better pace to give more pressure to Martinsson.
Wagner instead had great battle against Netherlands Peter Haaima. When half distance was driven from the final, it looked that it was going to be easy second place for Wagner, but he start to struggle with his pace and this gave chance to Haaima. Haaima was consistent, got good rhytm and started to pressure Wagner. And things werent getting easier to Wagner, as he made his mistake at lap 19 and Haaima was now under 3 second from him. As they crossed the line in lap 32, they were side by side, only 0.075 distance from each other.
Haaima`s furios drive and chase was ruined in next lap by his mistake and Wagner got few seconds get away. Wagner only job was to drive safe last lap and get the second place.
So, Martinsson won, Wagner was second, 10 seconds and Haaima third, 12 seconds from winners pace.

Martinsson was unstoppable at SPORT level, Haaima and Wagner chasing
