SEASON 1 2016 ELECTRIC ISTC TOURINGCARS

PRO LEVEL

Hungarian talent Barnabas Toth has wonned ISTC TOURINGCARS serie in VRC PRO 2016 SEASON 1. He started his season from Luxembourg, where he allready at qualifying showed his remarkable speed, winning that one with seven seconds gap to Britains Graham Raistrick. Unfortunatelly we didnt see him at on the grid when race was arranged.
But no time, when next race was on, he was on fire again. In Italy, Messina track he had tight battle against Swedish driver Christian Holmström. He wonned the gualifying only with 0.5s ahead of Holmström. In race Holmström pressured Toth real hard but Hungarian was tougher, but only with one second.
At Volker track, Carpet 4, Toth got fight against Swedish Andre Fossto and USA driver Dana Bailes. Fossto was in second place after qualifying, 1.7s behind Toth. When race... read more

2016 Season 1 and round 5, Messina

At fifth round this series travelled to Italy, Messina circuit. This track is on the island Sicily in the south of Italy. The track hosted 2005 IFMAR World Championship for 1:8 scale sportcars, and it was wonned by racing legend Lamberto Collari. Lay-out of this track is guite simple but this makes it even more difficult to gain time and make a difference.

QUALIFYING
As the qualifying was helded, Hungarian talent Barnabas Toth had greatest pace, but there was this Swedish driver, Christian Holmström who didnt gave this easy to Toth. After round ended, Holmström losted the TQ, only 0.6 seconds margin to Toth. Third grid went also to Sweden, Andre Fossto`s gap to winner was 3.3 seconds. Benjamin Lehmann from Germany drove to fourth and French Arthur Brule to fifth grid. By these results, we could expect that final would be two mans fight of th... read more

2016 Season 1 and round 4, Carpet 1

After Luxembourg race, serie travelled to Luxembourg. As we saw at Luxembourg`s race that winning from back of the grid was possible. German Benjamin Lehmann did unbeliavable race in earlier event, taking very deserved win starting from seventh grid. So, anything was possible, could he repeat that miracle also here.

QUALIFYING
As the qualifying started, familiar names were at the top. Hungarian talent Barnabas Toth took the TQ, with tiny 0.6 seconds margin to Swedish top driver Christian Holmström. Dana Bailes from USA was third and Britain`s Graham Raistrick fourth at qualy. Dana`s distance was 1.8 and Graham`s almost 1.9 seconds to winner. Swedish driver Andre Fossto, who drove fastest result at Luxembourg with 13.5 spec cars, was fifth at this round and his gap to Toth was 2.4seconds.
Our serieleader Willem Janse van Rensburg got sixth ... read more

2016 Season 1 and round 3, Luxembourg

As this serie had start they season from Carpet 3 and Atsugi 2, it was time these gladiators to gather here in Luxembourg track. It was time resolve who would be the master of this magnificent Luxembourg circuit. This track features the new extension right after the famous and spectacular cork-screw corner at the end of the front straight. The cork screw been extended with an extremely sloped and banked extension wich makes this track even more challenging than it allready was.

QUALIFYING

Expectation and also hopes were high for good qualification, as there was so many top drivers in participant list. Raistrick, Lehmann, Brule, Kalfoglou, Bailes, Vey and Rensburg were those names who had done magnificent results earlier races at season. Maybe highest expectations was at Barnabas Toth`s side. This 17years old Italian supertalent had in... read more

2016 Season 1 and round 1, Carpet 3

1:10 ISTC MODIFIED, Season 1 started from VRC Carpet 3 track. Race was runned in reversed direction. Expectations were high for this start, as we looked the participants list. For example multiple VRC Worldchampion 2015, Netherlands Jeffrey Rietveld was at the lists.
In qualfying we saw how tight this race was going to be. Jeffrey tooked the TQ only by 0.146 seconds away from Finnish supertalent Viljami Kutvonen. Others were close, Graham Raistrick(3rd),Benjamin Lehmann(4th) and Willem Janse van Rensburg(5th) were about 4seconds from the leader. So...we could only wait start of the final.
When the tone horns and cars speed up, Kutvonen and Rietveld took there place at the lead. At lap 2, Jeffrey made little too hungry cut at corner before backstraight and Viljami ran away little.
Margins were very tiny, race was close all the time between these two supermans. Allmost the whole 5 minutes, they battled those ... read more

2016 Season 1 and round 2, Atsugi 2

Season 1 second race was raced at Kyosho works track, Atsugi 2 in Japan.
We saw very tight battle of podium places. This Pro final was fun to watch, as drivers paces were so close each other. French Arthur Brule started from the pole, where he was appointed after very tight qualifying, winning Swedish Andre Fossto only 0.248 margin. Third grid went to Kevin Rasguin from France, losing to the leader about 3 seconds.
When the final started, there was little drama. South African Willem Janse van Rensburg missed the tone at the start, losing 2seconds and this mistake dropped his position to the last.
Also Australian Chris Kalfoglou had some issues at start, maybe he was pit nervous and his car moved a little pit before the tone, but this movement did not give him any penalty. Finally he got very good start for the final. He gained his place to third at... read more
