We are now planning the 2019 Season 1 which will start at the end of the first week of January and an important consideration is the format for the 2019 VRC Worlds. The format I chose to intergrate them in the Season 1 events was surely not a success and will of course not be repeated.
However, I still feel we need to split up the VRC Worlds in 2 blocks as we simply have too many classes to squeeze them into a 4-6 week period. I am thinking of creating 2 blocks of VRC Worlds for 2019:
VRC Worlds Spec classes: June
VRC Worlds Open classes: December
With this format we will have 5 months for the Series 1 and 2, and 1 month each for the VRC Worlds.
I think this should be an interesting format. Maybe June is a less interesting week for those who are in full competition in the outdoor season (western hemisphere...) but we will have to compromise to get both Spec and Open classes covered in the VRC Worlds. We will never be able to suit everybody's preferences.
I look forward to some constructive input on this topic.
Pieter

I am new to this, using a controller. what level member do i have to be to enter the worlds ? I dont have any paid content yet
You can be any level there is club, sport and pro. You do need to have the tracks and cars that will be used at the worlds.

Great ideas Pieter!
I have one suggestion. I live in the cold dark north and we get stuck inside a lot with not much daytime. It can be a little bit depressing to then log in to VRC and race inside a virtual warehouse track. How tough would it be to have some sort of option to have the track "background" be outside in the sun like the Buenos Aires track or something similar? That would be just great if it could happen :)

Good plan, and maybe put the 1/8th spec NASCAR W/C into July to keep the Swedes happy and anyone who takes exams in June. Maybe get more Swedes doing NASCAR?
Could the 3 NASCAR series be staggered so that all the finals do not end on the same week (the 20 min finals take a lot of prep). Also better to run max 3 rounds per event (i.e. with 4 rounds the 2nd round does not achieve very much).

I like the concept and think it may work. I just want to make a remark that the major holliday month in Sweden is in July. So if you want more Swedish drivers to join I think July is best. But Swedish drivers have always been few so just ignore my comment.

Great Idea! That 4-6week period is just too tight to schedule all classes, and especially with both, spec and open.
