NAXOS TRACK
Just 2 months after the Worlds, Virtual Racing Industries is releasing the Naxos track in Sicily, home of the 2014 IFMAR Worlds for nitro buggies. It’s a great but demanding track with lots of challenges, just like the real track proved to be back in September. We have made a comparison video between some real laps during the World Final, and who better to pick than World Champion Ty Tessman, against one of our beta testers Nicolas Loriot from France. As with earlier ‘virtual vs real’ comparison videos the resemblance between virtual and real is astonishing close, once more proof of the incredible accurate detail of the track and the fantastic realism obtained with our state of the art physics engine.

The Naxos track is home of the 2014 VRC Worlds for Short Course trucks, starting December 3rd, and of the 2014 VRC Worlds for nitro buggies starting December 17th. To let everybody get a taste of virtual r/c racing at its best the Naxos track will be free for everyone during the VRC Worlds!

Together with the Naxos track VRC Pro also release 2 new nitro buggies.

NX8-R CHASSIS

The new Intercept NX8-R is an improved version of the NX8, which was released end of 2013. The car has been lightened to make it more agile and responsive and should be a great match for the RX8 chassis which was released back in June 2014.

NX8-S CHASSIS
The NX8-S is the spec or stock version of the NX8 and has very limited set-up options, in fact only the steering angle and the gear ratio can be changed. A special easy to run Spec engine was developed to make the NX8-S the ideal beginner buggy. 10 Different car configurations are available with body decals of all major brands, like Associated, Kyosho, Hot Boddies, Mugen etc. As with all spec chassis, also the NX8-S and the stock components are FREE for all members! A special VRC Worlds for the new spec class will be organized on the new Naxos track starting December 17th. Make sure you join!

NEW BUGGY AND TRUCK TIRES
VRC Pro is releasing new compounds for both the buggy and the short course truck tires. Having more compounds available enables you to choose different compounds and even tread designs in front and rear to optimize the balance of your buggy or short course truck.
The Proline and AKA range of buggies tires has been extended with a soft compound to increase traction when needed. The range now covers medium, medium soft and soft compounds. The Proline range for short course trucks has been expanded with a medium soft compound besides the medium compound.

SHORT COURSE TRUCKS SET-UP DIALOGS ADDED
We have added setup dialogs for the short course trucks including the highly needed suspension and shocks diagrams as we know them from the nitro buggies. Added are setup dialogs for chassis, driveline, shocks and suspension!

GAME SOFTWARE UPDATES

With this December release come also some important software updates. The new in-game chat functionality has been optimized further. Besides these optimizations a 1-line chat box at the bottom of the screen has been added to notify you of personal messages sent to you by other members. Furthermore the graphics engine has been updated to handle dynamic car shadows better. On some tracks they were not working at all, on others they were on and off. This is the first stage of this optimization, further improvements are expected at the next release.

we will keep an eye on the laptimes. The one thing we don't know is the exact grip level, maybe we have too much grip now especially with the new soft tires.

Hello Pieter, the Mugen drivers run a the Worlds 30'000/30'000/15'000 in the Diffs at the final day. The grip in Sicily was for sure very high for a outdoor Off-Road Track.
Robert Battle was the fastest in the Main-Final with a 36.977sec in the 71th lap.
At VRC we can only go to 10'000 Diff Oils, so no reason in that, that only the soft tyres would do the differnce.
Perhaps Isaksson just had a lucky fast lap. We will see next week at the WC in Replay what is possible and was is the trick :-)

Posted by: Ritchie Thorn (GB) on 4.12.2014 17:22:50 (UTC) The jump at the back of the track makes you hit space bar because of corner cutting if you go big which is a bit annoying seeing as its really minimal compared to say the second corner on neo 14
this is also fixed, we will update it today. Has anyone found any 'unfair' short cutting opportunities which we are not aware of? We have seen some incredible low 36 laptimes which are kind of suspicious.ģ Fair cuts like this jump are OK, they are risky and rewarding, but very difficult to do well every lap so you may end up loosing time. Unfair short cuts are where you can cut the corner every lap without too much risk, short cuts you would be penalized for in IRL too...

Nice one!

Input: I think for me and also comments I read about the difficult track of Naxos, the problem are the angle of the view and the angle of the track. Especially the last double jump, myself after +100laps I'm not really sure which line I have to take the jump to not hit a pipe after and still jump fare enough. A BIRD-VIEW PICTURE of the track in DIN-A4 size would help many drivers I think. Can you export something out of your track-datas? And post on the Naxos Track page?

Hello Pieter
The only thing I saw is, that you can finish a lap or a race off the track running on the grass on the left or right side of the track.

I don't know witch jump Ritchie Thorn is meaning? The small double in back middle in "V-Form"? Any help?

Posted by: Matthew Stacey (CA) on 3.12.2014 23:01:36 (UTC) Been running some laps here. Very hard track, but getting the hang of it.. Just wanted to note if this hasn't been discussed. I found a bug with the pit lane. You can pit on the straight away if you hug the right side which will cause fast pit stops during worlds... might want to fix that..

Have fixed this and submitted an update. Hopefully be published soon.
