MESSINA-X, A NEW RALLY-X TRACK

22.02.2017   Category: Site news

Thursday February 23rd we will release a new Rally-X track: Messina-X. The original Messina on-road track has been transformed into a part asphalt, part dirt track to accommodate the new Rally-X class. The new track can be raced in both directions and will surely also be used for short course truck racing and perhaps even some buggy racing will take place on this track.

Messina-X will host its first event this weekend as part of the 2017 Season Rally Cross.

FYI if you drive a real WRX or GRC car you will see that they also have difficulties with nosediving too. So maybe it's quite accurate :)

but it's not accurate for RC buggies...

yeah I hear you. but rally is based on e-buggy, and that car nosedives too, on some jump on nearly every track. I'm very familiar with it.

the problem actually is with all the spec cars: spec electric buggy, spec rally x, spec nitro buggy, spec short course.

you can't correct a nosedive with throttle (once it's started to nosedive), whereas with the mod car you can. but if you ensure your takeoff is good it's possible to avoid it most (but not all) of the time. yes, I agree, the design of some jump faces makes it worse/more difficult...

Better stopping the Rally Project and spend the time and money for new 1:8 Buggy tracks, that is what the most people in VRC and in the real RC Car World are Racing.

we like to get new racers into VRC with Rally X... Where are all the tenths of thousends of 'real world' rc racers anyway? If you prefer buggy over Rally X that's your choice, others like it.

Have to remember, that week after week VRC is getting new members. Even this track is relative simple and easy, for rookies this is one challenge, especially with rally cars slippery behaviour.
With rally cars, you have to be very careful with throttle and brake that you`ll manage to go round without mistakes.
But i agree with others, that jump has something weird. With 13.5 SC, if you get perfect line and speed from earlier corner to backstraight, it will flip your car. With these "perfect speeds", chassis hits to ground and this affects nose dive?

Every 4WD car lift up the nose when you stay on the throttle, but there is zero reaction from the car.

the rally car is supposed to drive differently from the buggies and sc trucks, else it would be more of the same. The difference is in nthe wheel and tire inertias. The rally car is between on- and off-road...

Car is fine on IBR Padova. And many other "real" off-road tracks.
Do not change the car. Just a hint of grip maybe...
But that jump is messed again. But it is possible to run that without flipping.

I really like the track! It's supposed to be simple, and the bumps and powersliding are great fun!
