This is the provisional allocation of tracks for the upcoming 2024 VRC Worlds for Spec classes.

This selection takes into account previously held (5 years) VRC Worlds events for a particular track/car class or similar car class combination.

So how would a multi-player event look like? I think that is probably the most important aspect of this project from the racer point of view. In regular VRC events each round has a fixed begin and end time, you have to do your runs inside that time slot. You get a number of 'tries' for each round, for example 6 for the Qualifying round, 3 for the semi finals and 2 for the main final.

In the multi-player event structure we always with a Qualifying round, open to 999 max. racers. The reason for this is that the mp event can be part of a series and we don't want any racer who is competing for the Series, to be excluded from an mp event because he is too late with registration. The Qualifying round is always off-line type. It works like a pre-selection for the multi-player event and it seats the participants in the next round.

Registering for an mp event works very much the same way as for events, only there are more selections to chose from, see image. Click on it to enlarge.

Section 1 shows all official events
Section 2 shows all mp events
Section 3 shows all mp events in your region
Section 4 shows all mp events you have registered for

As in the regular Events webpage there will be 3 levels:
- Current
- Future
- Past

To register for an mp event you must select 'Future events' and the mp event must be in your region. The region can be your country, or your continent. This depends on the mp event organizer level. The lowest level can only organize mp events in your country or state, while the highest level mp event organizer (MPEO) can organize mp events for a whole continent.

These selections enable you to select an mp event to register for, the mp event must be future and in your region. You cannot register for mp events outside your region for reasons explained in Part 1.

I have been working on the multi-player event structure for the past 3 months trying to come up with a structure that is both in line with what you are used to in terms of event selection and racing, and implementable. Don't underestimate the complexity of this project, we have allocated 9 months for the implementation and the testing.

In a series of news items I will lead you through the whole process, showing mock-ups of new website and in-game event and multiplayer screens, and explaining how this new structure is going to work.

We are not in a position to offer server based and scheduled multi-player events like for instance iRacing does. That is a much more complex and expensive development which is totally out of the scope of VRC.
