2017 SEASON 2 RALLYX SPEC ROUND 3 X2

PRO level

Third round race was held at X2 track. American Ely Rojas setted the pace to others in qualifying. His average 23.4 was over four 10th`s faster than Yeung`s pace, who was second fastest at qualifying. Huhtala was standing at third spot, over four 10th`s away from TQ pace. Izidor Tratnik was fourth and Arturas Svoba fifth fastest.

In the final, we saw a great fight between the American Ely Rojas and Finnish JP Huhtala. Rojas and Huhtala took the fastest start, Yeung started from the second grid, but he was having difficulties with the rhythm. His first lap was bad, almost a 27s round and this drop his position. Rojas was not at his own level in his run, his lap times already told that this was Huhtala's chance. And the race was really tight between these two, until the last laps. The Rojas drove the mighty last laps and raised a bit of difference to Huhtala. But in the final lap, at the second tilted curve, he overcutted this one and Huhtala passed him. Huhtala`s only job was to cross the line and get the win. Even he had to cross the line, only few meters before finishine he drove against the fence and came over the line with spinning car. Rojas almost got him, but he had to settle to second place behind Huhtala, only with half second distance.
We had some chat with Huhtala after the race, and he told that his transmitter "beeped" as a ending battery, when half of the final had been run. That last straight mistake was totally reason of empty battery. Excuses excuses, we say!!!
Yeung who had some struggles at early stage, finally got his rhytm and drove well deserved third place. Great save from Carson. But it didnt come in easy style, as the Lithuanian Arturas Svoba had also great pace. Yeung passed Svoba at 10th lap, but Svoba didnt surrender and was right on Yeung`s tale all the time. Svoba`s last two laps wasnt so good and these solved third place to Yeung.

Rojas(white) could not find his best pace in the final

SPORT level

SPORT level race was dominated by Dan Haaling. He had six 10th`s faster pace than second place driver Nuno Lourenco. Lourenco was almost 9 seconds behind Haaling when race ended. If Haaling and Lourenco had stable places at front, so had Curtis Damn at third place. He was 7 seconds behind Lourenco when race ended. Gary Sundman was fourth, 11 seconds behind Damn.

Haaling won the SPORT level

CLUB level

AT CLUB level American Brandon Scobee was overwhelming. He won the level with a 18 second gap to Peter Jandl. Karl heinz Johann was third, over lap behind Jandl.

Brandon Scobee had a crushing style at club level
