QUALIFYING

In the qualifying round, Spanish Jhonny Hernandez was the fastest. Hernandez averaging 14,721, he left the Norwegian Mathias Nedrebo in 0.24 seconds behind. Belgian Daan Haling was also in a hurry, staying 1.1 seconds behind Hernandez. Skilful German Tobias Seidl was fourth and American Dana Bailes fifth fastest, Seidl was 1.7 and Bailes 2.1 seconds behind the top qualifier.

SEMIFINAL

In the semifinal round Norwegian Nedrebo succeeded perfectly. With an average of 14,620, he was 1.7 seconds faster than Haling in second place. Haling also did really well because the qualifying round winner Hernandez stayed behind him with 0.4 seconds margin. Frenchman Alexander Duchet was also joined to this group of ”winner favorites”. He earned the fourth grid for the final with 14.733 average and was 2.4 seconds from the winner. German Tobias Seidl was fifth and he had also increased his pace one 10th from earlier round.

MAIN FINAL

Main final was three driver battle of the title. From the tone, Haling had unbeliavable reflexes and got the lead. Nedrebo was chasing and Hernandez was in third place. In first few laps Nedrebo wasnt at the rhytm, got little mistakes and this allowed Hernandez to overtake him. Haling was looking really strong at the lead, but Hernandez was closing the gap lap by lap. Well it was honest ”cat&mouse” race from these two and pace was very same. Nedrebo had got his rhytm in third place and was chasing Haling and Hernandez few 10th`s behind. Penultimate lap was decisive.
Haling cutted the corner 7, collided to the fence and dropped to third place behind Nedrebo.
In last lap Hernandez hold his nerves, kept his great rhytm and crossed the line in first place.
Nedrebo came to second, only 0.7 seconds behind. Haling who made his decisive mistake in penultimate lap was in third place when last lap started. But it wasnt his day, as he got marshalled in last corner of the race and this dropped him to last position. Sorry for Daan. American Dana Bailes got well deserved last podium place by Haling`s mistake.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JHONNY HERNANDEZ, 1:10 ISTC SPEC WORLDCHAMPION!

SPORT level

SPORT level race was French domination. From the three French podium drivers, fastest and most consistent was double Worldchampion Gaetan Anger. He had won earlier in these Worlds, SC trucks 13.5 and RallyX spec titles. With 15.2 average, Anger left Nicolas Chauvet 4.1 seconds behind. Lantheaume and Chauvet had good battle of the second place. They both got one mistake during the race, but Lantheaume`s mistake costed 0.8seconds more and this solved the second place for Chauvet by 0.6 seconds margin.

Double Worldchampion Gaetan Anger was strongest of the three French

Nice driving & report!

Just some little questions (I'm quite new at VRC): Was there a reglement (for motor/gear ratio etc.) for this race? Do you guys race with collisions off?
