Learning a new track
added: 22.10.2018
I recently replied to a post and figured I would share the tip here as well.
When learning a new track try switching your camera view (F2 key -Rostrum, Chase, and TVcam) to third person for the first few laps -basically it's a 'follow camera' similar to what you might find playing a racing game on your PlayStation.
This view allows you to see grade changes, track width, tight sections, ramp angles, landing areas, etc. from a perspective not typically visible from the driver stand.
Once you got it figured out, swap back to the drivers stand (F2) and see how it feels.
Even on a track I am familiar with, I will go back and "walk the track". You might be surprised with what you learn about that old favorite track.
Just like the real world, pro drivers will walk the track to assess conditions and develop a strategy.
I hope it helps a few enjoy this amazing simulator even more.
